Puppies and tears...
I just can't help sharing. Here are these poor puppies being brought into San Diego Puppy from Missouri this week. To look at them and to know how many more are left behind them in the mills makes me crazy. Please, anyone who looks at these photos without tearing up gets a pass this week. But. Anyone who gets the slightest bit teary when you look at these defenseless puppies, alone, and waiting for the long and scary truck ride to the pet stores around the country, gets to come and join us at the protest! That means almost all of you reading this. Oh come on! You know you want to do it. And you'll be glad you did.
Study the puppies first, then we'll tell you where and when.

Protest Against Little Shop of Puppy Mill Misery
Puppy mills put profit over the well-being of the dogs. The mothers of the puppies sold at this store are still being held as prisoners of greed.. The puppies have gone through much hardship in their young lives -- being taken away from their mothers too soon, going through the processing at the Hunte Corp., being trucked across the country and now being held in storerooms at this mini-mall.
It's not surprising that so many of them get sick.
The people in this photo are their only voice.

In Case You Were Wondering...
Here are the puppies being brought in from the Hunte Corp. this week to San Diego Puppy. Take a close look at their faces and expressions. Sad and scared. As you read this, they are probably still in a truck, being hauled cross country from Hunte headquarters in Goodman, Missouri. These bring the total to 78 puppies for the month of August. Please protest this outrage with us on Tuesday, August 28 at the SD Puppy store, 5827 Mission Gorge Rd. (just a couple of short blocks off of I-8 on the right side). We will be there from 5 - 8 PM

Here are the puppies he is bringing in on
Tuesday, Aug. 28:
American Bulldog, Beagle, Bernese Mountain Dog, Border Collie, Boston Terrier, Chihuahua, Dachshund, 2 French Bulldogs, Italian Greyhound, Labrador Retriever, Maltese, Mini Australian Shepherd, Miniature Bulldog, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Pomeranian, Victorian Bulldog,
That is 20 puppies in addition to the 15 he brought in on Aug. 21, and 43 in the 2 weeks before that.
That is 78 puppies so far in the month of August.
And he keeps insisting he doesn't buy from puppy mills. Only puppy mills can supply
this many puppies.

Buyer Beware. These puppies are not from local, carefully selected and investigated breeders.
They are from the Hunte Corp, a Missouri broker that processes 90,000 puppies a year and ships them to pet stores around the country to sell for extravagant prices. Multiple studies have shown these pups are more likely to have diseases and hereditary defects. Their mothers are left to suffer and die in the puppy mills.
Rescue from a shelter. Rescue from a breed rescue group. Your dog is waiting to be saved by you.

Animal Group Wants Local Pet Shop Closed
San Diego Animal Defense Claims Owner Of San Diego Puppy Is Lying To Customers

SAN DIEGO -- A local group protested Tuesday evening outside a Grantville-area pet shop, claiming the shop's owner is lying to his customers.
Since May, San Diego Animal Defense has been protesting against San Diego Puppy on Mission Gorge Road.
'We're just going to stay here and raise hell until we shut him down," said Janice Hatch, who is with San Diego Animal Defense.
The group claims the shop's owner, David Salinas, is lying to his customers in guaranteeing the puppies he is selling are not bred in puppy mills.
"We think consumers need to know where these puppies are coming from," said Hatch. "We have proof that he is buying all of these puppies from the largest broker in the country called the Hunte Corporation. He's bringing the in large groups, week after week."
10News confronted Salinas outside his store Tuesday evening, even though he told 10News he did not want to comment.
"These people are out here saying that you're doing something illegal," said 10News reporter Preston Phillips.
"Right... and it's not, because the city would close us if we were illegal," said Salinas. "I mean, we've been around for almost five years. We're not going anywhere... we're doing really well."
When asked if the dogs come from puppy mills, Salinas responded, "They're not puppy mill dogs."
"If you go to a shop, you don't see the mother dog, you know something is up. They come from puppy mills," said Liz Jacobelly, who is also with San Diego Animal Defense.
Robin Merlo said she was considering buying a puppy at San Diego Puppy until she drove up and saw and heard the message being driven home by protesters.
When asked if it changes her plans, Merlo replied, "Yeah, it kind of does... I'll see what my husband says. He just went inside."
San Diego Animal Defense claims Salinas has had 52 puppies trucked in this month alone.
As of Tuesday, there were only a few puppies inside the store.10News has confirmed others are being held in another one of the units inside the business complex where the store is located.
